Altogether the 8-story building holds 5,850 students, making it one of the largest and academically strict schools in America. It is the dream of every student of middle and low income group including Tausifa to study here. But the growing number of non-Americans and blacks in big schools like Brooklyn Tech has raised questions from critics.

He’s pressuring that all major schools, like Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, shut down entrance exams to give those who can’t pass the entrance exams a chance. They argue that if average students study with externally talented students, then they will also be able to do well in studies. Anyway, the number of children of Asian descent in schools like Brooklyn Tech has reached 61%.

At the same time, the number of children of elite class is less than 20%. Due to this, there is a possibility of alienation of the elite class students. This intention of the critics has instilled fear among the Asian students. They believe that if the entrance examination is closed, then talented students will face trouble.

To increase the number of black students, so change

The entrance exam debate has reached far beyond select high schools in New York. The San Francisco Board of Education has even dropped a merit-based admissions policy. He has decided to reintroduce the lottery system at Lowell High School. 55% of the students in this school were of Asian descent.

Officials in Fairfax County, VA have changed the entrance exam to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology with a combination of grades and socioeconomic criteria. This is expected to increase the number of Black, Latin students compared to Asians from next session.
