Miami to Host Three Matches Including the Final on July 14
Miami will host three matches during the Copa América 2024, including the grand final on Sunday, July 14, at the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins.The city of Miami Gardens has warned of heavier than usual traffic conditions on match days.
Inaugural Match Today
The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with a capacity crowd of 70,000 spectators, will host the inaugural Copa América match between reigning champions Argentina and Canada. The match kicks off today, Thursday, at 8:00 p.m.
Alejandro Domínguez, president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), emphasized the significance of selling out all tickets for the opening match, highlighting the event as a football celebration.
Controversy surrounded the event due to last-minute turf installation following a Major League Soccer match on artificial turf just days before the Copa América. Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni expressed concern over the conditions, stating, “We’ll see how it is. Hopefully, it’ll be better tomorrow.”
