Batgirl movie director Bilall Fallah officially welcomes Brendan Fraser to the DC Extended Universe. The profoundly anticipated blockbuster was initially announced in 2017, with Justice League creative Joss Whedon attached to compose and coordinate. After Whedon exited a year later, Warner Bros. and DC Films went to Birds of Prey author Christina Hodson to take over the content. Hodson, who also wrote the screenplay for the forthcoming The Flash movie, was eventually joined by Bad Boys for Life directing couple Adil El Arbi and Fallah, charged on the whole as Adil and Bilall.
As the news became famous online, Fallah takes to his Instagram Story to invite his newest cast part to the team. To start with, he reposts a “welcome to Gotham” story from Scipio, then shares a press clipping of Fraser and expresses: “YESSSS!! Batgirl forever.” Notably, the director doesn’t say something regarding what part the actor will play. Look at the posts beneath:

Fallah’s co-director Arbi stuck to this same pattern, sharing Scipio’s same Instagram story to his page with the basic caption: “Brendan!!!!!” Leading lady Leslie Grace offered her own virtual salutation as indeed, writing: “Welcome to the squad, #BrendanFraser (now I have to beat you senseless).” Fraser isn’t new to DC using any and all means. The actor has been starring as Cliff Steele/Robotman on HBO Max’s Doom Patrol, and however the series isn’t technically in the DCEU, it has crossed universes on different occasions.
Fraser was king of the ’90s, building a tremendous fanbase with major movies like George of the Jungle and The Mummy franchise. After falling off the radar for awhile, the entertainer has ventured back into the spotlight lately. The Batgirl announcement lights Fraser’s renaissance significantly more, proving that he isn’t shying away from the camera again anytime soon. Playing a DC villain will no uncertainty require a wide-range of abilities from Fraser, and diehard fan can point to the star’s on-screen history as verification that he has what it takes to adapt to the situation.
