Excitement is building as the upcoming thriller series “My Dear Mother,” a collaboration between Estonia and Ukraine, gears up for its debut at MIPCOM. The series, which dives deep into a young woman’s tumultuous past, unfolds after her mother is found brutally murdered on a beach, unraveling a mystery that blurs the lines between victimhood and manipulation.

Directed by Doris Tääker, known for her work as an assistant director on Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet,” and penned by Raoul Suvi, “My Dear Mother” embraces the Nordic noir style, promising to captivate audiences with its dark and complex narrative. The lead role is portrayed by Doris Tislar, with a talented supporting cast that includes Indrek Ojari, Elina Reinold, and Saara Pius.

Produced for Elisa Estonia by Zolba Productions in partnership with Film.UA Group, the series stands out for its innovative use of advanced de-aging techniques, allowing Tislar to be depicted at various life stages. This collaboration comes at a time when Film.UA has expanded its international reach, acting as a vital link for content production since the onset of the Ukraine War over two years ago.

Toomas Ili, Head of Content at Elisa, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Together with Estonia’s Zolba Productions, we are honored to have Film.UA on board, bringing this tragic story to life.” Producer Olena Malkova echoed this sentiment, highlighting the innovative opportunities that modern technology offers, thanks to their partnership with Elisa.

“My Dear Mother” will be showcased at MIPCOM, running from October 21-24, and is set to draw attention for its compelling storyline and cross-border collaboration in the wake of ongoing global challenges.
