Paramount Global Content Distribution has announced a new licensing agreement with MONO in Thailand to create a Paramount+ brand extension on the Monomax streaming platform, scheduled to launch in November.
The deal, revealed at the APOS conference in Indonesia by Lisa Kramer, president of international content licensing, aims to enhance Paramount’s global expansion strategy for the Paramount+ brand.
In various regions, Paramount+ operates as a standalone service, while in others, it exists as a branded destination through licensing agreements. Similar branded areas are currently available via Cosmote in Greece, Streamz in Belgium, MultiChoice in Africa, JioCinema in India, and soon on Blast TV in the Philippines.
The new Paramount+ hub on Monomax will provide subscribers with access to content from Showtime, CBS Studios, and Paramount Pictures. Highlights include popular series such as FBI: International, NCIS, Mayor of Kingstown, and Halo, along with blockbuster films like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Hellraiser, and the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Navamin Prasopnet, CEO of Mono, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “By partnering with Paramount Global Content Distribution, we are able to elevate our offerings significantly. Paramount has an impressive catalog of content that has consistently garnered popularity among Thai viewers.”
Dan Cohen, chief content licensing officer for Paramount, emphasized the strategy to provide high-quality entertainment across various genres and platforms, stating, “This new deal with Mono does just that.”
Mono, a long-established media group, is expanding its entertainment offerings to cater to diverse audience needs. Its flagship digital TV channel, MONO29, features a wide array of blockbuster movies and hit series, while its Monomax subscription service is tailored to the preferences of Thai viewers.
