Quavo’s highly anticipated action thriller, Takeover, has dropped its first clip, offering a glimpse into the film’s electrifying fusion of live-action and CGI. The movie, which also stars Billy Zane, Lamonica Garrett, Serayah, and Martin Sensmeier, centers around Zane’s character, Gamal Akopyan, a mastermind behind an international heist ring. Akopyan uses street takeovers to execute massive robberies, but when his latest heist hits a snag, he must evade capture in the Atlanta takeover scene while protecting a fortune in diamonds.
In an exclusive statement to Variety, Quavo expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “‘Takeover’ is unlike anything you’ve seen before and will blow minds. This film brings a whole new vibe that’s about to change the game, and I’m really hyped to share it with my fans.”
The film’s production has wrapped in Atlanta, a hotspot for car culture, and aims to spotlight the thrill and controversy of street takeovers, also known as sideshows. Trioscope, known for its advanced hybrid animation technology from Netflix’s The Liberator, has used its updated Trioscope SEE technology to blend live-action with CGI in groundbreaking ways.
