Lady Gaga has announced that she will release the first single from her highly anticipated seventh studio album in October. The news was teased in an Instagram post where she shared her schedule for the week in Venice, noting “XX October: LG7 first single,” indicating that the album may drop later this year or early in 2025.
This upcoming single will follow her recent surprise release, “Die With a Smile,” a collaboration with Bruno Mars. However, it has been confirmed by a representative that “Die With a Smile” will not be included on the new album. Gaga described the creative process behind the single in press materials, revealing that the track was developed spontaneously after a late-night studio session with Mars.
While specific details about the new album remain scarce, Gaga has been actively working on it for several months, sharing studio snapshots and updates with fans. The album is expected to showcase a fresh direction, with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with the Rolling Stones and Elton John, likely involved in its production. Additionally, Gaga has been collaborating with longtime partner Bloodpop and vocal producer Benjamin Rice.
During the premiere of the “Chromatica Ball Film,” Gaga hinted at a groundbreaking musical direction for the new album, expressing her excitement about exploring new genres and producing innovative music. She stated, “I have written so many songs and I have produced so many songs… It’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before.”
