The creators of the child trafficking drama “City of Dreams” are making a significant impact with their latest initiative. They are distributing $1 million worth of preview tickets to human trafficking support organizations, survivors, churches, schools, and others who might not otherwise afford to see the film. This giveaway, facilitated by a generous donation from John Devaney, founder of United Capital and Manor House Films, aims to draw over 50,000 attendees. Preview screenings will start on Wednesday, two days before the film’s official release.
Devaney expressed his commitment to raising awareness about child trafficking through this powerful film. “[Director Mohit Ramchandani] has done a brilliant job through this powerful and unforgettable film by focusing on this issue and telling this story, inspired by true events. Few topics deserve a more urgent spotlight, and my family and I are privileged to help protect and save innocent children from slavery,” Devaney said. He also noted the support from ambassadors and influencers who back the film’s message.
In other film news, the Hola México Film Festival, the largest Mexican film festival outside of Mexico, is set to celebrate its 16th annual edition from September 20 to 27, coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month.
