Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has unveiled its first trailer, offering a glimpse into the updated classic. The trailer features Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the menacing Evil Queen. At the D23 Expo, Zegler expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s been the honor of a lifetime. Getting to embody a Disney princess for months has been incredible, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Gadot, in turn, spoke about her role as the Evil Queen, noting, “It was so much fun to dive into a role that is completely different from anything I’ve done before. She’s deliciously evil and magical, and I loved getting to perform these new songs.”

The film, directed by Marc Webb of The Amazing Spider-Man fame, reimagines Disney’s 1937 animated classic. The story follows Snow White as she flees from her jealous stepmother, the Evil Queen, who orders her death. The Huntsman fails to kill Snow White, and she takes refuge with seven dwarfs. Discovering Snow White’s survival, the Evil Queen eventually attempts to end her life with a poisoned apple. Snow White is ultimately awakened by a prince’s true love’s kiss.

The remake introduces Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman and Andrew Burnap in the new role of Jonathan. While the film will include songs from the original, new compositions by songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will also feature.

Zegler and Gadot highlighted the modern twist of the film, with Zegler’s Snow White focusing on her own growth and leadership rather than waiting to be saved by a prince. “Snow White isn’t dreaming of true love but about becoming the leader she believes she can be,” Zegler explained.

The film, initially scheduled for March 22, 2024, has been pushed to March 21, 2025, due to delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike.
