Travis Scott was arrested early Friday morning in Paris after a reported altercation with a security guard at the Georges V hotel. According to a statement from the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office, police were summoned at approximately 5 a.m. on August 9, 2024, to address a situation involving the rapper and his security team.
The altercation reportedly occurred as Scott became involved in a confrontation with his own bodyguard, which led the security guard to intervene. The police are currently investigating the incident. No injuries have been reported, and no formal charges have been filed at this time.
A representative for Scott stated that the team is working closely with local authorities to resolve the situation and will provide updates as appropriate.
The 33-year-old artist, known for his hits such as “SICKO MODE,” is in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. He was seen attending the Men’s Basketball semifinals at Bercy Arena the previous day, where he supported Team USA alongside fellow musician Quavo.
Scott’s arrest in Paris follows a recent arrest in Miami on June 20, 2024, for alleged trespassing and disorderly intoxication. After that incident, Scott shared a Photoshopped mug shot on Instagram and announced merchandise featuring his mug shot with the slogan “It’s Miami,” with proceeds going to his Cactus Jack Foundation.
Earlier this year, Scott also made headlines when a physical altercation occurred in Cannes between him and music executive Alexander “AE” Edwards. Scott, whose latest album “Utopia” was released last year, is scheduled to perform in Santiago, Chile on September 7, 2024.
