Wipro Hydraulics, a division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering specializing in hydraulic cylinders and components, has completed the acquisition of Columbus Hydraulics, a US-based hydraulic cylinder manufacturer. The acquisition, which was finalized on the same day as its announcement, marks a significant expansion in Wipro Hydraulics’ North American operations.
Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises, emphasized that the acquisition aims to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities in North America. This deal is Wipro Hydraulics’ second acquisition in the region, following its earlier purchase of Mailhot Industries in Canada.
The Columbus Hydraulics acquisition brings with it 150 skilled employees and a state-of-the-art plant established in 2020, covering 120,000 square feet. Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, highlighted that the integration of Columbus’s expertise and resources will strengthen Wipro’s product and customer portfolio, providing a wider range of hydraulic solutions for various applications. He noted that the expanded workforce will drive innovation to meet both current and future customer needs.
