His father, recognizing his potential, enrolled him in the Maharashtra government’s Krida Prabodini sports program at the age of 14 in 2009. It was here that Kusale first took up shooting, having also shown an early interest in cycling. His father’s dedication to his son’s dream saw him take loans and send Kusale to the prestigious Bhonsala Military School in Nashik, where Kusale’s shooting skills were further honed.
In a nod to his inspiration, Kusale has often mentioned cricket legend MS Dhoni as a role model. “I admire MS Dhoni for the person that he is. My sport requires me to be as calm and patient as he is on the field,” Kusale remarked. He also draws a parallel to Dhoni’s early career as a ticket collector, reflecting his own humble beginnings.
