Megan Thee Stallion will bring her dynamic presence to a political stage this week, performing at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris. The event is set for Tuesday, July 30, in Atlanta, where the rapper will lend her star power to Harris’ presidential campaign.
Following the conclusion of her “Hot Girl Summer” tour, and just before heading to Lollapalooza, Megan Thee Stallion announced her participation in the rally via Instagram. The “Savage” hitmaker teased the event with a photo featuring “Kamala” and “ATL” alongside the rally details, and an enthusiastic message to her Atlanta fans: “ATL HOTTIES SEE YOU TOMORROW” with American flag and blue heart emojis.
The rally comes as Harris ramps up her campaign efforts following President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 race. Endorsed by Biden, Harris is anticipated to secure the Democratic nomination. The event will take place at the Georgia State Convocation Center.
Megan Thee Stallion has been vocal about social issues and supportive causes through her music. Her past performances, including on Saturday Night Live in 2020, have highlighted her commitment to justice and activism. Similarly, Harris has received notable support from the music industry, with endorsements from artists like Charli XCX and Beyoncé.
Charli XCX’s album “Brat Summer” has been influential in the campaign, with Charli XCX expressing support for Harris on social media. Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” featured in Harris’ first campaign ad, and Cardi B has also publicly endorsed the vice president.
Megan Thee Stallion’s appearance is a significant boost for Harris’ campaign, showcasing the blend of entertainment and politics as the election season heats up.
