Benji Gregory, who rose to fame as a child star playing Brian Tanner on the NBC sitcom “ALF” from 1986 to 1990, has tragically passed away at the age of 46. His sister, Rebecca Pfaffinger, confirmed to the New York Times that Benji was found deceased in his car at a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, on June 13. His loyal service dog, Hans, was also found deceased in the vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation, and the official cause has not been determined. There is speculation that the extreme heat in Arizona, with temperatures reaching 108 degrees Fahrenheit on the day of his passing, may have been a contributing factor.

Born Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg on May 26, 1978, in Los Angeles, Benji Gregory began his acting career at a young age, achieving recognition for his role alongside the alien character ALF in the popular family sitcom. In addition to “ALF,” he appeared in various commercials and had guest roles in shows like “The A-Team,” “Fantasy Island,” and “The Twilight Zone.”

Following his acting career, Benji Gregory served in the Navy as an aerographer’s mate, specializing in weather tracking for aviation and nautical safety, as noted in entertainment sources.

Survived by his sister Rebecca Pfaffinger, Benji Gregory’s death marks the end of a life that touched many through his memorable television work and subsequent service to his country
