Amidst predictions of a resounding Labour victory, the 61-year-old actress made an appearance on the show shortly after it was revealed that Rachel Reeves would be taking back her seat as the MP for Leeds West and Pudsey. Andoh expressed her relief and optimism for the future, saying, “The country feels like it is been doing this (shaking) for a long time just seeing Rachel win. We have had 14 years of shocks and frights.”

Andoh joked, “We need some plain soup, bread, and butter. Financial stability is necessary, so I believe there is a reason for our desire for it. Our only task is to remain steady. Fireworks and other large, extreme things are not necessary. All we need is steadiness.”
Andoh stressed that Starmer and Reeves’ alliance represents the stable leadership the nation needs at this critical juncture. “There will be something steady with Rachel and Keir’s partnership,” she declared. “It is an honor and a privilege to be returned as the Member of Parliament for Leeds West and Pudsey,” Rachel Reeves wrote on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter, following her victory. You have placed your faith in me. Moreover, I will not disappoint you.”
The actress also addressed the election of Lee Anderson as the first Member of Parliament for Reform UK, which was hailed as a significant development by party leader Nigel Farage. “I believe that there are individuals who simply feel helpless and disenfranchised, and they are looking for a way to take back control of their life and align with a party that claims ‘this was ours,'” Andoh stated. There is a hint of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement about this sentiment, she said, drawing a comparison between the two. It can be frightening because you do not know what country you want back or who was a part of that citizenship at the time.”
