In a remarkable initiative aimed at improving the living conditions of less fortunate villagers in Yemen, the Kuwaiti International Islamic Charitable Organization recently inaugurated the “Kuwait Al Khair” residential village in the coastal district of Al Mokha on the Red Sea, situated in the Taiz Governorate.
This philanthropic effort is part of the larger “Kuwait Is Next to You” campaign and was made possible through the generous funding provided by the “Tarahum Volunteer Team.” The project is a testament to the power of international cooperation and charitable endeavors in making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
The “Kuwait Al Khair” residential village consists of 120 housing units, each thoughtfully designed with two rooms, a kitchen, and a courtyard. To enhance sustainability, each unit is equipped with a solar system, a water tank, and a water drainage network. Furthermore, the beneficiaries were provided with shelter bags, bedding, and cooking tools to ensure their well-being.
Nasser Al-Bassam, the head of the Kuwaiti Tarahum Volunteer Team delegation in Yemen, expressed gratitude to all those involved in the humanitarian project. He acknowledged the pivotal roles played by the International Islamic Charitable Organization, benefactors, supporters, and the Yemeni Communication Foundation for Human Development, which implemented the project on the ground.
The impact of the “Kuwait Al Khair” residential village on the lives of 120 families is profound. Previously residing in makeshift straw houses and tents, these families now find themselves in secure homes that shield them from harsh conditions, providing a more dignified and stable life.
Al-Bassam further highlighted ongoing projects, emphasizing the commitment to holistic community development. These projects include the construction of a mosque, school, health center, bakery, and water tank tower. Additionally, endowment shops are being established, all of which are funded by the Tarahum Team and supervised by the Charitable Organization.
As part of their comprehensive approach, a water network extension project for villages inhabited by displaced people is underway. This project is funded by Kuwaiti philanthropists and overseen by the Kuwaiti Tanmia Charitable Society, reflecting a sustained commitment to addressing the diverse needs of the community.
Abdul-Jabbar Al-Zahzouh, the Second Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, expressed gratitude to Kuwait’s Amir, government, and people for their unwavering support. He also extended appreciation to the Tarahum Volunteer Team, the International Islamic Charitable Organization, and the Tanmia Charitable Society for their collaborative efforts in fostering positive change in Yemen.
The “Kuwait Al Khair” residential village stands as a shining example of international solidarity and the transformative impact that charitable initiatives can have on the lives of the less fortunate. It serves as a beacon of hope for communities in need and a reminder of the positive change that can be achieved through collective efforts.
