It is a soggy morning as several bands of rain slog ashore. Our tropical wave has ramped up the moisture giving an early start to the rain today. locations over SE GA reaching the upper 90s. Heat advisories may be issued Sunday into early next week.

Rain will be steady at times along the coast early this morning with pockets spreading inland west of the St. Johns River.  Today has a 100% chance of rain although it should taper off slightly slightly after 10 am until the early afternoon. Thereafter storms should refire into the evening.

In the tropics, we continue to monitor a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean. Currently there is a 40% chance of development in the next 7 days. Most forecast models hint at a tropical depression or tropical storm forming by early next week. We’ll keep you posted on WJCL 22 in the days ahead so check back!

Temps will be in the low 90s with ESE winds less than 10 mph.Tomorrow starts drier   several storms develop during the afternoon with rain chances at 50%. Sunday doesn’t look any drier. Storms are likely, mainly in the afternoon and evening as they track back toward the coast in a SW breeze.
