Michael B. Jordan
Dana Canedy (ChantŽ Adams) and Charles Monroe King (Michael B. Jordan) in Columbia Pictures' JOURNAL FOR JORDAN.

The new trailer for A Journal For Jordan gives a first glance at star Michael B. Jordan in his job as a real-life officer and father, the late first Sgt. Charles Monroe King. A Journal For Jordan recounts the genuine story of King, who composed letters to his infant child Jordan, offering advice and life exercises, before he was killed while serving in Iraq. The film is based on A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor, the 2008 diary by Dana Canedy, King’s fiancée and Jordan’s mother. Canedy is a journalist and distributing chief, and she was the primary woman and the main minority to fill in as administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes, a position she held from 2017 to 2020.

Presently, USA Today Entertainment has shared the trailer for the film based on King and Canedy’s story. The trailer sets up A Journal For Jordan as an epic and emotional romantic tale, with Michael B. Jordan getting a chance to show his romantic side. Scaling back and forth among intimate and happy family minutes, and jarring scenes of war, the trailer captures the polarity between King’s two universes. Look at the trailer beneath:

A Journal For Jordan was coordinated by the legendary Denzel Washington, who helmed the Oscar champ Fences, and was composed by Virgil Williams, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for co-composing Mudbound. In addition to Jordan, the film stars Chanté Adams as Dana Canedy. A Journal For Jordan will be released solely in theaters this Christmas.
