The spin-off will see the arrival of Scream (2022) chiefs Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, previously known for coordinating Ready or Not and Southbound. Screenwriters James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick have also been affirmed as getting back to compose the new film. With the franchise’s latest passage having come out under a month ago, and with creation for Scream 6 starting this mid year, the creative team likely already has a plan for where they want the new film to go. The fifth film left a few unanswered inquiries and the approaching continuation offers the chance for some conclusion.

With Scream 6 already in the works, one thinks about how the creative team will actually want to keep the meta nature of the franchise new and intriguing, having already pushed the boat out very far in 2022’s Scream. Meta commentary is ultimately a limited asset, something the original Scream movies had to learn the hard way following the critically panned Scream 3 and oft-overlooked Scream 4 serving as ideal examples of the style’s unavoidable losses. Regardless bearing Scream 6 heads down, it’ll have to prove to audiences that it deserves their attention, something easier said than done given the tricky balancing act Scream (2022) had to pull off to please both long-lasting viewers and new audiences. Given sufficient fan support, maybe the movie’s follow-up can achieve similar achievement.

The fan banner comes from a client on Twitter, @creepyduckart, as they celebrate Scream 6 getting the green light. The banner portrays Ghostface holding a knife before his notorious mask, parting the image into equal parts, with the mask on the right side, and the horrendous knife on the left. The blood on the knife forms the other half of the mask obscured by the blade. At the base, it incorporates the caption “2023” as a theory at to when Scream 6 will be actually released. However, creation isn’t expected to start until the mid year of 2022. Check out the banner beneath:

New off the accomplishment of Scream (2022), Paramount has officially greenlit Scream 6 and a fan has crafted a banner for the spin-off in celebration. Scream broke $112 million in the cinema world, impressive numbers for a release during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has received positive reviews from pundits and audiences, with many refering to it as the best Scream spin-off. Series star Neve Campbell has communicated interest in repeating her leading job.
