After becoming a judge on The Voice Australia in 2017, Boy George became loved by newer younger audiences. And now the popstar is coming back with his iconic 80’s band The Culture Club. The band is bringing its Greatest Hits tour Down Under this September to five states.
Their second-last night will be at Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre on September 11 before the tour concludes at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on September 14. Boy George and his bandmates Roy Hay and Mikey Craig will be joined by 80s synth pop group Berlin as their supporting act.
They will kick-off the exciting tour at Perth’s RAC Arena on September 5, then they will head to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on September 8 before taking the stage at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on September 9.
The Los Angeles-based band said it can’t wait to join the legendary group for its Australian tour. Lead vocalist of the group Terri Nun said: ‘We are OVER THE MOON to be joining Culture Club on this tour! We absolutely love Australia and its amazing people. Can’t wait to see you!’
Fans can nab tickets for the Australian tour via Telstra presale at 10am on April 17 with general public tickets going on sale at 10am on April 21. The Culture Club’s Greatest Hits tour comes as the band celebrates its 40th anniversary of its biggest album Colour By Numbers, which sold over 10 million albums and shot to triple platinum in the UK and quadruple platinum in the US.
Announcing the tour on its Instagram, The Culture Club said: ‘Hello you beautiful Australians! We’re so excited to announce that we’re going on our Greatest Hits tour this September.
