Helen Flanagan ‘misses’ breastfeeding her son Charlie because he’s ‘most likely her last’ baby. The actress, 32, took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday with an emotional update, while sharing a throwback snap of herself nursing her son, 15 months.

The soap star is a huge advocate for breastfeeding and has been praised in the past after opening up on her struggles after sharing intimate posts with other mums. Back in March, Helen said she felt ‘quite emotional’ about the thought of no longer breastfeeding.

Helen also has daughters Matilda, six, and Delilah, three, with Preston North End player Scott Sinclair, 33, but has now said they are unlikely to expand their family any further.  Looking radiant in a pink heart print dress, Helen wrote: ‘I still miss breastfeeding. I didn’t feel like that with the girls as much… I think it’s because Charlie’s very likely my last.’

The mother-of-three took to her social media to detail her one-year journey nursing her youngest child, while sharing another snap of herself breastfeeding.  The TV personality opened up candidly for her followers, giving an honest account of how the journey has helped her mentally and physically, while also detailing what she’s missed out on.

‘I think it’s a comfort to him with his teething… it’s great for flying to calm him. I love breastfeeding as I like the bonding (I know you can bond with your babies in lots of ways of course). ‘I like that it’s just something that I can do and that my baby needs just me. He’s likely my last baby and I want to soak this all up. I feel quite emotional about stopping.’

Helen wrote: ‘1 year of feeding you my precious baby boy. I’m not too sure when our feeding journey will come to an end… I am thinking I will keep nursing through the summer..

Helen described how the bonding experience has also benefited her in her own life, she said: ‘My hormones are stable when I breastfeed and I love not having a period and pms. ‘I love looking down and seeing his cute little face and big brown eyes… I think it calms me if I feel anxious.’

Helen then went on to detail some of the personal time that she longed for, adding: ‘Though I miss…Being able to have more time on my own with Scott.  ‘Being on my own (not for a long period I suppose just having more freedom), Being able to take the girls for one and one trips on their own.’

She concluded by joking: ‘I would say having perky boobs but that’s a long time gone now.’  Helen is best known for playing the role of Rosie Webster in ITV soap Coronation Street from 2000 to 2012 and again between 2017 and 2018.

The TV actress and footballer Scott have been together since 2009 when they met while the sportsman was playing for Wigan Athletic, before announcing their engagement in 2018.
