Hamish Blake is a doting dad to two young children shared with his beauty entrepreneur wife Zoë Foster Blake.And the comedian stayed up until five am on Saturday after attending a charity event the night prior, to make their son Sonny an Avatar cake for his eighth birthday party. Hamish, 40, pulled out all the stops to create an epic treat that was based off Avatar Aang, the title character of Nickelodeon’s animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Proud wife Zoë, 41, shared an image to her Instagram Stories on Saturday morning of the finished masterpiece, which featured a chocolate sponge with ganache, and marzipan cake toppers of rocks, water and the character Aang. Following their appearance at a charity event in Sydney on Friday night, Zoë went to bed while Hamish made the most of his ‘chaotic cake energy’ to finish it in time.
Earlier on Friday, Hamish told his Instagram followers of the cake brief and admitted the hardest part was going to be creating the Avatar character out of marzipan.‘I already feel the familiar twang of this being too much, and the law of averages states I’m due for a flame out, but nevertheless, here we are,’ he posted online.
‘I will begin posting about 7ish on my stories, if you feel like dropping by to watch a man crumble under the pressure of making a cartoon figure out of icing.’Hamish and Zoë are celebrating Sonny’s birthday on Saturday, with the youngster having turned eight on Tuesday.
The beauty mogul posted a throwback image to Instagram of Sonny as a baby along with a moving caption. She then went on to describe some of her son’s favourite things, including the TV show LEGO Masters, and movies Avatar and The Last Airbender. Zoë added that Sonny loves margarita pizza followed by chocolate ice cream and ‘bringing home peach coloured shells and flowers he finds for me’.
It comes after Zoë and Hamish snapped up a luxurious $4.26million property in Jamberoo on New South Wales’ South Coast. A company controlled by Zoë quietly bought the six-bedroom, five-bathroom home in the private Nuninuna Estate late last year, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The couple, who live in a $8.925million home in Sydney’s Vaucluse, are said to have added to their property portfolio with the purchase of the home 90 minutes from the Harbour City.Hamish and Zoë relocated from their home in Melbourne to Sydney a year ago.
The couple sold their Richmond house for a whopping $7.435million in March last year, before purchasing a $8.925m family home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. In August last year, it was revealed that Zoë had sold off a controlling stake in her Go-To skincare company for $89million.
