He’s known just as much for his fashion sense as his stellar vocals. And Guy Sebastian, 40, commanded attention as he took to the stage at the Aware Super Theatre in Sydney on Sunday for his T.R.U.T.H. national tour.
The Voice Australia coach donned a sleeveless black graphic shirt and mustard sweatpants with black boots, before adding a brown vinyl jacket to the look. Guy appeared in his elements as he belted out lyrics and took to the piano. His set list included popular tracks Standing With You, Before I Go and Love On Display.
The performance comes after Guy shared his fears of becoming ill during his national tour. The three-time Aria Award winner told The Gold Coast Bulletin on Saturday that a Covid-19 diagnosis could derail his performances and leave his crew struggling.
‘What happens if I get Covid and my whole week of shows can’t go ahead… you go bankrupt and then you can’t help any of your band and crew,’ he said. ‘I think it’s honestly a reflection of what it is like as an artist touring at the moment,’ he went on.
‘You feel like anything could crumble your world and that’s a big stress; we just need a little bit of certainty.’Guy’s T.R.U.T.H National Tour will next see him take to the stage in Cairns on May 10, and Townsville on May 11.
The singer then heads to the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Hobart, before several dates in Melbourne through the rest of May. He completes his travels with shows in Perth and Adelaide, as well as gigs in a series of country towns from June all the way through to November. Guy, who won Australian Idol in 2003, released his ninth studio album, T.R.U.T.H., in 2020.
