Bella Hadid is her own stylist, and she’s proud of it.The supermodel , who recently got candid about her mental health struggles in an interview, responded to people criticizing her fashion sense on social media.
Hadid shared a selfie while sitting for hair and makeup, and wearing a color-block sweater, earlier this week on her Instagram Story. “Anyone who doesn’t like my style … It’s a good thing it’s mine. And not yours!!” she wrote over the photo. She didn’t name any names when posting the comment, and it’s surprising that anyone would question the face of Michael Kors’s style.
Hadid, when she’s not looking glamorous in couture all over the world’s runways, is looking cool in vintage or Y2K-inspired outfits. She loves tiny knit tops, cargo pants, and long skirts styled with sneakers, and she’s a sucker for a bucket hat. She also wears ear muffs no matter the season and teeny-tiny sunglasses and eyeglasses which seems to drive some people mad.
The model has previously spoken of how much she loves playing with her fashion and revealed. in January that she hasn’t had a full-time stylist in two years.
“I was in such a weird place mentally that it was really complicated for me to get out of the house and put an outfit together, especially with the anxiety of [paparazzi] being outside and all that,” she said .
Though she’s admitted she’s very sensitive to criticism of her image, she’s confident in her taste and said she chooses the pieces she does because they make her feel “comfortable” and “happy.”
“In the last year, it was really important for me to learn that even if people talk about my style or if they like it or if they don’t, it doesn’t matter, because it’s my style,” she said at the time.In an interview earlier this month, she also defended her fashion choices, saying, “I know what I like. I always have, since I was young. And I’ve never drifted.”
