Ben Hardy and Mia Tomlinson have been cast alongside Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in New Line’s upcoming film, The Conjuring: Last Rites. Wilson and Farmiga will reprise their iconic roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, with Michael Chaves directing. Chaves previously helmed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II. The Conjuring Universe has garnered an impressive $2.25 billion at the global box office.
The films are inspired by the real-life case files of the Warrens, although details regarding the specific case for Last Rites remain closely guarded. The screenplay is written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, with revisions by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, based on a story by Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan. Wan, who has produced every film in the Conjuring franchise, returns for this installment alongside Peter Safran.
Hardy recently gained acclaim for his performances in Unicorns and Love at First Sight on Netflix. His notable film credits include playing Queen drummer Roger Taylor in Bohemian Rhapsody and Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Tomlinson is recognized for her roles in the Britbox series The Beast Must Die and Netflix’s The Lost Pirate Kingdom, as well as her portrayal of Joan Rivers at the New Wimbledon Theatre. She recently starred in Bandits, a short film directed by Nick Alexander, who won Gold at the Cannes Young Director’s Awards.
Hardy is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and Independent Talent Group, while Tomlinson is repped by Julian Belfrage Associates.
