Though Taylor Swift’s busy Eras Tour is keeping her from attending the 2024 Paris Olympics, she’s found a way to show her support for Team USA. Swift has released a new promotional video celebrating three standout American athletes: Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Katie Ledecky.
The video, featured in NBC’s primetime Olympic coverage, showcases highlights of these athletes’ remarkable performances while Swift’s song “Style” plays in the background. In the voiceover, Swift encourages viewers to embrace their individuality and strive for greatness, no matter how the world perceives them.
“Never be afraid to show them who you are, especially when the whole world is watching,” Swift says in the video. “Because there is no one way to be the best, no one way to inspire everyone else who will someday follow. You do what you love, love what you do. You believe in your style, whatever it is.”
The video concludes with Swift honoring each athlete by name: “Katie, Sha’Carri, and Simone. Three American stars, three different visions of greatness. Tonight in Paris.”
As of Saturday night, all three athletes have made their mark at the Games. Richardson won silver in the women’s 100m, while Ledecky secured her fourth consecutive gold in the 800m freestyle, adding to her impressive Olympic medal count. Biles, returning to the Olympics after withdrawing in 2020, has claimed three gold medals, further solidifying her status as the most decorated gymnast in history.
Swift had previously shown support for Biles when the gymnast used Swift’s hit “Ready For It” during her floor routine at the Paris Games. Swift praised Biles’ performance on social media, highlighting her excitement and admiration for the athlete.
