Glastonbury Festival 2024 has sprung a surprise with the announcement of Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker set to perform a secret DJ set tonight at the Silver Hayes stage. The Australian psychedelic rock icon confirmed the news on Instagram, inviting fans to catch him at 1AM Saturday morning.
“GLASTONBURY come see me tonight at the Firmly Rooted sound system in Silver Hayes at 1am,” Parker shared excitedly. “DJ set. Should be pretty funnnnn.”
Speculation had been rife earlier in the week when Parker’s name appeared in the festival’s official program, describing him as “The Antipodean psychedelic rock icon tak[ing] to the decks.”
Parker’s surprise appearance has also sparked rumors of a collaboration with headliner Dua Lipa, whom he recently collaborated with on her latest album, Radical Optimism.
This year’s Glastonbury Festival features headlining performances from Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA on the Pyramid Stage, with global streaming of these performances marking a first in the festival’s history. Other notable developments include the introduction of new stages like The Wishing Well and Scissors in The Park, and the replacement of the iconic Arcadia spider with a giant dragonfly.
