Public Health England has friday identified a new strain of coronavirus which is being investigated after 16 cases have been detected in the United Kingdom 10 of which were london. This has been designated as a variant under investigation on Wednesday, The new coronavirus variant is known as B.1.621.
The public health body said, that not much has been known about this variant and there is no evidence that it might make vaccines less effective or caused more severe illness so that the new strain does not spread fears among people.
The B.1.621 variant of SARS-CoV-2 might be a new variant in the United Kingdom, In January, the variant was first identified in Colombia this is not a new in the world.
PHE said the variant was flagged during routine scanning based on possibly concerning mutation and its apparent international spread including in the U.S.,Portugal, japan,Switzerland and india.
