Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo in Marvel’s Eternals, uncovers he put his costume pants on backward for weeks. The movie, which is the third cinematic installment in the MCU’s Phase 4, as of late hit theaters on November fifth. Eternals is coordinated by the Academy Award-winning Chloé Zhao, and has an elite player cast including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, and that’s just the beginning.
Despite the fact that he certainly put in the work to play a superhuman, Nanjiani apparently didn’t generally look movie-prepared while filming. During his appearance on Late Night With Seth Myers, Nanjiani cleverly conceded that while on the set of Eternals, he’d “been putting on the pants backwards.” He was apparently unaware of a secret zipper that would’ve permitted him to go to the bathroom among takes, and only found it from co-star Brian Tyree Henry weeks into shooting. Nanjiani’s full statement can be perused underneath:
“You put the costume on, you feel really extraordinary. Yet, you know, it’s a lot of pieces so you can’t actually go to the restroom once you put it on. So in the morning, I would put it on, and in case I was wearing it the entire day I’d not have water, not have espresso, be careful, isn’t that so? And several weeks I’d been shooting in the costume and my pal Brian Tyree Henry—who’s in the movie, who’s totally amazing in the movie—he was drinking espresso in his suit and I resembled, ‘How would you… how would you manage the washroom piece?’ And he said, ‘There’s a zipper,’ and that is the point at which I discovered I’d been putting on the pants backwards.”
There’s a great deal ahead for Marvel Studios as they continue to produce new movies and Disney+ shows, and it appears to be a huge portion of future MCU activities will tie back to Eternals. The universe is certainly expanding, and it seems like the Eternals are at the forefront, all things considered, For now, fans can anticipate upcoming Marvel discharges like Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home, the two of which show up not long from now. What’s more, ideally, moving forward, Nanjiani will sort out some way to put his costume pants on the correct way for any future collaborations with the studio.
