“Coraline” Returns to Theaters This Halloween After a Successful Rerelease

Get ready to revisit the eerie charm of “Coraline”! This beloved stop-motion animated classic will haunt theaters once more, just in time for Halloween. Following a triumphant summer rerelease that grossed $53 million globally, the film will be back in limited engagement on October 31, showcasing stunning new remastered 3D and 2D formats.

If it feels like you just saw “Coraline” on the big screen, you’re not imagining things. The film celebrated its 15th anniversary this summer, bringing its lifetime total to an impressive $185.7 million worldwide. It currently holds the title of the highest-grossing stop-motion film in the U.S. and has become the highest-grossing rerelease in the U.S. in the last decade, as well as the top-grossing film in Fathom Events’ 20-year history.

In addition to the spooky nostalgia, attendees will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek of Laika’s upcoming film “Wildwood.” David Burke, Laika’s Chief Marketing & Operations Officer, expressed the studio’s excitement, stating, “Everyone at Laika is elated by the global success of the ‘Coraline’ re-release and we’re delighted to offer one more chance to see it this year during Halloween festivities.”

The film will screen in partnership with Fathom Events in the U.S. and Trafalgar Releasing internationally, including countries like the U.K., Ireland, Australia, Canada, Austria, and Ecuador. France and Italy will also join in on the anniversary celebrations next month.
