In Episode 3 of Agatha All Along, Agatha Harkness and her unconventional coven confront their first major challenge on The Witches Road after narrowly escaping the Salem Seven. Picking up from the cliffhanger of Episode 2, the witches set out with little idea of what awaits them, aside from Sharon (Debra Jo Rupp), who believes she’s been kidnapped.
Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) reveals that the Witches Road is a series of trials, but with a catch: none of them can access their magical powers, forcing them to rely on “analog magic.” Meanwhile, a mysterious sigil marks one member, Teen, who remains tight-lipped about his identity.
As they navigate the road, the group loses Sharon, who nearly succumbs to quicksand but is saved, albeit at the cost of her purse. Agatha warns them to stick together, but their next challenge arrives when they find a house that magically transforms their appearances and invites them to the First Trial with a riddle about wine.
They discover wine ready for consumption, but while Teen avoids drinking, the others begin to suffer an allergic reaction after consuming it, revealing a toxic substance known as Alewife’s Revenge. As panic sets in, the witches realize they need to brew an antidote quickly.
With time running out, hallucinations take over the group, further complicating their efforts. Agatha discovers the Darkhold in a bassinet, momentarily distracted from the brewing crisis. In a race against the clock, they realize they need Teen’s blood to complete the antidote.
Just in time, they manage to save themselves, but not before Sharon is left unconscious. As the timer expires, they escape through the oven, returning to the Witches Road but not without a tragic loss: Sharon is dead.
