The clash at the Racecourse Ground is one of five matches that have been called off in the Football League this weekend.  A statement from the Welsh club cited ‘a heavy downpour’ overnight which put pay to their promotion efforts just ahead of kick-off.

‘Following a pitch inspection this morning, we can confirm that today’s fixture against Forest Green Rovers has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.’ The club said.  ‘After a heavy downpour of rain overnight, the pitch was deemed unplayable and failed a pitch inspection at 11:30am.

Wrexham and Forest Green fans are not alone in their disappointment as a several other fixtures in the division have been postponed due to the bad weather.  Barrow’s clash with Gillingham, Bradford’s match against Salford, Mansfield v MK Dons and Sutton v Harrogate were all called off on Saturday morning due to the weather.

‘Details for the rearranged fixture and ticket information will be communicated in due course. ‘We can confirm however that all supporters who travelled on Official Supporter Travel will be offered free transport to the rearranged fixture.’
