This morning, the trailer for Jurassic World Dominion was released, featuring a full minute of footage taken in British Columbia.

The film, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, began filming in the Kamloops and Merritt areas on Feb. 24, 2020, under the working title “Arcadia,” and finished on March 6, 2020.

He resorted to social media during the shoot to highlight the scenery via his Instagram account. “Take a look at this lovely drive.” Kamloops, British Columbia is a stunning city. That sun, my lord. “Wow,” he exclaimed when he photographed a sunset over some icy mountains during the two-week session.

Merritt’s other locations were also used. According to photographs shared on Twitter, production personnel were visible surrounding the historic Coldwater Hotel and the Ponderosa Sports store across the street, in addition to shooting in Big Box Canyon. Over the course of several days, Voght Street was closed.

The hotel was also used to stage a casting call for Merritt residents aged 25 to 65 to play mill workers, fishermen, and townfolk in the film.

According to HollywoodNorthBuzz.com, filming took done on Vancouver Island as well, although without actors. A drone was seen flying over Cathedral Forest, apparently filming b-roll. In February 2020, a film team was sighted in the neighbourhood for two days.

Later, production was shifted to Hawaii, Malta, and the United Kingdom.

Along with Dallas Howard and Pratt, the original Jurassic Park cast members Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill reprise their roles.

Steven Spielberg directed the first picture, which was released in 1993 and grossed $1 billion at the box office. Jurassic Park II was released in 1997, and Jurassic Park III was released in 2001.

With 2015’s Jurassic World, which also generated the 2018 sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the famous series was relaunched with Pratt and Dallas Howard.

Jurassic Park Dominion, the third instalment in the new trilogy, will hit theatres on June 10, 2022, a year beyond its initial release date.
